Partnering with Insurance Providers to quantify and manage Environmental – Southern Africa
EBS Advisory have a Service Level Agreement with one of the largest insurance providers to assist with managing and reducing environmental risk for their clients. This involves undertaking International Standard specific site assessments prior to insurance schedules being drawn up. This is to ensure environmental risks, sudden accidents are fully understood and managed to ensure correct cover is provided.
Each risk assessment covers desktop reviews to better understand material risks associated with industry specific activities that integrate environmental factors such as geology, soil morphology and groundwater characteristics to produce a conceptual model of potential contamination risks.
EBS developed a remediation plan, including indicative costs for rehabilitation, to allow both client and insurer the opportunity to work together for improved environmental management.
Through EBS’s 20-year track record of working on the continent, EBS has gathered information on a number of sectors and industry types which form key focus areas for risk management, these include mining and associated beneficiation, heavy industry (steel & power generation) and petrochemicals.
